Charlotte's automotive events calendar is stacked, and if you're not careful, you'll miss some of the best gatherings in the Southeast. We've compiled the definitive guide to every major car event happening in the Charlotte metro area — from the massive multi-day shows at Charlotte Motor Speedway to the intimate weekly meetups that are the heartbeat of the local scene.

The crown jewel of Charlotte's event calendar is the Charlotte AutoFair, held twice a year at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The spring edition typically draws over 50,000 attendees and features 10,000+ vendor spaces, a massive car corral, and some of the rarest vehicles in the Southeast. If you only go to one car event in Charlotte all year, make it this one. General admission is around $13, and it's worth every penny.

But the AutoFair is just the beginning. Concord Speedway hosts regular drift events and time attack competitions that draw drivers from across the Carolinas. The Epicenter downtown occasionally hosts car shows that blend automotive culture with Charlotte's urban nightlife scene. And various breweries throughout the metro — from NoDa to South End to Lake Norman — host their own Cars and Coffee variations that combine great local beer with great local builds.

For the track-day enthusiasts, Charlotte Motor Speedway's road course offers lapping days throughout the year, and several karting facilities in the area provide an accessible entry point for anyone who wants to experience competitive racing without a six-figure budget. NCBike at NJMP and VIR are also within driving distance for the more serious track addicts.

We maintain a live events calendar right here on Queen City Redline — check our Events page for the most up-to-date listings with dates, times, locations, and costs. If you're hosting an event in the Charlotte area, submit it through our events form and we'll get it listed for the community. The 704 car scene thrives when we all show up.
